It's been crazy since I got back from NYC and I'm sorry for not posting earlier than now.

Semi-long update ahead...

Job Hunt/NYC trip )

Family issues )

TV shows I've become hooked on, (Prison Break, Life on Mars and NCIS) and comments about the other shows I'm still watching, (Stargate Atlantis and Ugly Betty) )

I plan on posting a poll soon for sending out Christmas/Holiday cards, so if anyone would like one from me, please provide your information in that poll. I just have to wait until next week, when I get paid, before I can buy the cards I put on hold at Hallmark. :)

And Happy Birthday to Jason Thompson! A man I will probably never meet, but who has provided me with hours of lovely entertainment with his hot looks and sweet personality and amazing chemistry with KMc on that crappy soap that Scrubs are the only good part of. :)

cut for spoilery comments about a certain character/actor on CSI )

****

Despite the complete and utter trashing of my Scrubs on GH, (something I'll probably rant about someday), I still love Jason Thompson and Kimberly McCullough and I'm still holding out hope that Patrick and Robin will get back together on the show soon. Also, everything I ever read/see about JT just makes me adore him more. *sappy sigh*

****

And, again, I think it's sad that the only real couple I can root for at the moment, (because of actors leaving and/or characters breaking up), is Hodgins/Angela on Bones, and it's not even one of the shows I'm really fanatic about. I don't necessarily need to have a favorite couple, in order to like a show, but I will admit that I'm a sucker for great characters and relationships. I get involved with fandoms, (fic, etc.), because of characters I end up shipping. That doesn't mean I don't love wonderful familial relationships or friendships on my shows as well, (the Team friendship on Stargate Atlantis, for example), but if the romance or UST is good and fun to watch, I get hooked pretty quickly on it. I still ship Doctor/Rose, Josh/Donna, Sydney/Vaughn, etc., but these aren't relationships I can see during my current TV viewing practices, and sometimes that's a little sad to me.

I'm sure there's a whole big essay about this topic in me somewhere, but I'll stop here for now.

*First, I wanted to wish a very Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] amberlynne and my friend, D, from work. I hope you both had a wonderful day and will have all your wishes come true in the upcoming year. You deserve it. :)

*Second, I'm well on my way to working out what to do for the fics that have been requested so far. If anyone else would like a fic written for them, comment at this post, and I hope to have them all completed by the end of this week.

*Third, Jason Thompson is an unbelieveably beautiful man and my newest desktop picture is all kinds of distracting for me. If I can figure out how the LJ pictures upload thing works, I'll have a link for this picture soon.

*happy sigh*

*Fourth, I am loving watching the old DW episodes, (*hearts Ian so much*), but I'm also working on the remaining Series 2 reviews as well. If I can get my act together, I should have those posted soon.

*Fifth, I'll probably be doing my song post tomorrow. It'll be another eclectic list of songs, but I hope someone out there will like them. :)

*Sixth, I'm feeling a little bit better today. Hope it lasts. *keeping fingers crossed*

....really random/WTH/okay, that's a bit strange type of thoughts I've had today....

*It's bordering on ridiculous how adorable I find Jason Thompson and his constant "biological clock is ticking" comments about kids. That man really wants to get married and have children and do the whole "white picket fence" thing. It's all kinds of cute.

*Officially watched the first episode/part of the Dr. Who show/series. *hee* Oh, I love the BBC backlot sets and the 1960s hairdos and the slightly off dialogue. Love Ian and Barbara, and I've only seen a little bit of them so far. It's nice to see that many of the quirks that the 9th and 10th Doctor have are present in the first Doctor too. *geeky bliss*

*It's nice when you hear from a friend that, when she needs cheering up, you are one of the first people she thinks of to call, because of your optimistic slant on things in general. That was an incredible compliment and I'm glad that I can help in any small way.

*Poor Mom and her stressful job this week. Poor [livejournal.com profile] ckdutchess and her new shift at work this week. *hugs all around*

*Nat will be here in one week! *happy squee*

*I don't think this can be said enough, but I love the character of Mr. Thornton in North and South. Catching up on my reading and I can't get over how great he is. :)

*Voted for Joey tonight on the ABC website. Really, really want him to win. Cuz, you know, it's Joey!!

*I know I've been focused on the Who stuff lately, but I haven't forgotten my other shows and I'll be talking about SGA and others in the next couple of weeks. Never really got to comment on the latter part of the third season for SGA and I still want to do that, (especially before the 4th season starts this summer).

*Pirates! Piratey goodness starts this week! *squee* (And the third movie will be awesome. Cuz I said so, dammit!!)

Ok.

Finally saw today's Patrick/Robin/Scrubs scenes. And for all my complaints about the upcoming storyline, the one thing that will never change is that those two still know how to bring the hotness.

Guh.

And even amongst the weird dialogue and WTF characterization, there were still some geniunely funny moments, (JT's "oh hell, I've been caught" face is priceless) and there was a scene with Georgie!! Oh, how I've missed Georgie. Why don't they have an interesting storyline for her too? (And GQ? Yet another couple that fell apart that could've lasted a little bit longer if the writing had been different).

Seriously? I just want to hug/kiss/do unmentionable things to Patrick/JT. It's becoming a sickness, I'm afraid. ;)

sorry for all the non-soap/GH fans on my flist. I'm just a little flustered/concerned about this particular fandom at the moment.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I spent the day working on job search stuff and then having dinner with my parents. Not very romantic for my parents, but it was still nice. We had steak and some Australian wine and my mom got some lovely presents. :)

I have a job interview this Friday for a part-time position at a Hallmark store. Nothing glamorous, but it'll be extra money that I can earn and save for when I do get a full-time job somewhere else. *crossing fingers*

***

One of the nice things about being back home is being able to watch the soaps with my mom. It's more fun that way. :) And I've become completely obsessed with Jason Thompson, (he plays Patrick Drake on General Hospital), and it's a little scary. *sigh* He's just so good looking and apparently very kind and sweet in real life and watching the Fan February clips, where he switches jobs with a first-grade teacher for a day, is making my ovaries ache. Because, wow, he's really good with kids and he got teary-eyed when he had to leave the kids and...oh. I *heart* him so much. And there is no one to gush about him with in my life. (Hmmm, probably should post on the Scrubs board. That might help).

*wibble*

Hope you all had a lovely day. :)

*I'll miss the conversations I have with C. about our pasts and the decisions we've made and what we plan for our futures. We can have the longest, most roundabout discussions about topics that normally most people would rather avoid and I love it. With L., our conversations tend to take on a different tone, but are no less interesting or thought-provoking. I truly hope that we will stay in touch in the future, because I really have come to admire and respect these women as my friends.

*Gaining perspective is sometimes a bitch, but unbelieveably necessary as well.

*My ticket has been booked and I fly back to Tampa next Thursday, the 8th. I just hope I can have everything packed and ready to go by then. (Well, I'll have to I suppose, won't I?)

*And then there are the pretty, hot, cute, sweet things that make me smile and gush and...yah. :)

*I'm really looking forward to this weekend with [livejournal.com profile] sunsetmog and my sister. I seriously need to have a good time and going to Leeds is just the ticket for all of that. :) *grin*
