Today involves a couple of Merlin fanfic recs. Enjoy!!

Fandom: Merlin
I was catching up on some of the Merlin Big Bang stories, from a couple of months ago, and I finally got around to reading "The Sorcerer and the King" and I loved it. I had read comments regarding the fact that Arthur lets Merlin burn and does nothing to save him and I wasn't sure if I could read a story where that happens. But, once you see that Arthur thought Merlin would save himself, and how guilty and horrified he is after the fact, it makes more sense for his character and the story, and I was able to read through to the end.
I loved the supporting characters and how both Arthur and Merlin changed and grew up in this story and I thought the ending was totally deserved. It's basically a canon AU fic, with a Merlin/Arthur pairing, has a main character death, (though temporary), and it's also rated R/NC-17.

And on the complete opposite side of the spectrum is the fic, "Crash Into Me", which is another Big Bang fic that is a College AU with Merlin/Arthur and Morgana/Gwen and it involves a funny road trip and boys being completely oblivious about each other's feelings, as well as a fantastically sweet ending. It's also rated NC-17.
